I'm afraid its incorrect. I'm actually studying the Hiragana and I happen to know this is not A. The last stroke, which is the loop, should be intersecting the two places and the A that is shown here in the artwork not the letter A. Take a good look at あ and the artwork above. They don't match.

This is what I was taught, if there is a difference in change of the hiranaga character, then its a different word or letter. This occurrs much the same way in English like the words Interior and Inferior. You can't change it and expect it to be the same.

Then that's just a non-existant letter. I know what an "A" looks like, and the secont stroke isn't long enough on there.... but that wouldn't make it an "O".
