OMG! I NEVER POSTED THE INFAMOUS PURPLE GRYPHON???? HOw could no one have told me I never posted the infamous purple gryphon!!! >-O I doodled this baby up the last semester of highschool.
See? He's fuzzy ^_^ This is what my gryphons look like w/o references. See? I made his fore leg furs all the way down to his talons, like I did in my 2002 pic. Haha.. I never noticed before. He alwasy faintly reminded me of a Fisher Eagle.
I think this is actually the first pic I drew that I gave a gryphon "ears". Then I just did it to other people's characters, cuz they automatically already had them. Woo!

Your artwork has improved a lot. The older griffin/gryphon/griffi-watchamacallit (I guess there are many ways to spell that) you submitted had a somewhat heraldic and a certain ye-olde- bestiary- look, but this one is more like something you might actually encounter in the wild.
His ears look very nice as well. I like 'em.
