Recently I went on holiday to rural Scotland as I have for much of my life, and it amazes me that with constant change in the UK, the area remains self-reliant on local businesses and its air remains unpolluted, a total retreat.

Those who know me know I've been having an especially rough time finding work over the last couple of years, and that holiday reminded me that even if it sometimes feels my life is slipping out of control, there are still some constants to escape to, and I'm grateful for that.

I wrote this song in a purposefully relaxing style to contrast some of the higher energy stuff on the upcoming album. Unlike a lot of the songs, I couldn't necessarily imagine anyone else singing the lyrics, as it showcases my deep vocals. It's kind of in an early Simple Minds/Human League vein. Quite probably not a final take though I felt worth putting up whilst I work on the album.
