But SL if you know what your doing you can REALLY go to town with the texturizing

Indeed all these little monitors are lots of screens from games HUD all pasted together. From far they make a great effect because the cockpit looks full of lights :3:3:3

I've looked over SL. It says its free but then again it says you can buy stuff, I don't fully understand it but it does interest me.

Yes, Second Life is a free game to play. But it also allows for the exchange of real money for in-game money, which can be used to buy user-created items.

Just as you can buy items from other players, they can buy items from you as well. If you create an object that players would want to buy, you can set the price and they can buy it. Some players may also offer paying jobs (but that is rare.)

So the probability of me buying stuff without using real money is low...

Can't be sayd, i don't build but i do other things like making drawings for Second Life people (and they pay me in SL money if they can't in reality), or dancing in a strip club
Even if i don't do it, the most payed job is supposed to be the escort (in Second Life)

Well for the first 30 days you can collect a few $$ from the money trees that are scattered in many places around the SL world. Unfortunately they are difficult to find unless you know how to use the search function and know what to look for. Like Tydrian had mentioned, if you are able to build what people want, you should be able to sell it and make much $$. The more complicated, the more $$$. Ota is right about the highest paying job which is escorts and strip pole dancing. Though there are much free items one can have. At least creating the account is free.
