Heh! An ancient weapon with it's own "Humming Beacon" which could be a sort of "IFF" in a way? Interesting concept. Most enchanted weapons I've read about only seek to dispatch their bearer's enemies more efficenrly.
-Except those "Singing Swords." Their owners get cranky because their weapons won't let them sleep at night.
