Tried my hand at another VHS edit. Not sure if this one is as believable as the previous ones. I was going for something like a commercial block.

If you might pardon the impertinency, I had a go at giving the source image a bit of genuine analog treatment, by sending it through my Amateur Radio SSTV setup that I was playing with at the time.

I used a dummy load and very low power on the transmitter, and received the images with a laptop in another room. Not exactly appropriate on the bands (no identification callsign, somewhat considered 'entertainment', and..ah..copyright..) so the signals shouldn't have escaped the house. :)
It should be possible to do the same thing without being a Ham-- in the SSTV software (MMSSTV, QSSTV) instead of radio audio interface. you would configure it for the computer's speaker and microphone, than have two computers next to each other.

There was a lot of jargon in that paragraph, but it seems you're saying you gave it a more authentic retro look by actually passing it through a retro television of sorts. I dig it. All of this seems beyond me, but I sincerely appreciate what you did!

Ahh, I have an Amateur Radio licence, so yeah. I had the equipment on the desk already turned-on next to me, so I had a try converting it into actual analog image to see what it was like...
"SSTV" = Slow scan TV; instead of the usual TV at 50 or 60 frames per second, it's takes several minutes.. but that allows the pixels to be represented by audio tones that most ham radios can handle. Before websites, before even the Internet, pictures could be sent that way. Usually like as seen on http://www.worldsstv.com/ ...not much furry art, though!
I like how the noise got into the image.. It's very much like a VHS player with dirty tape heads..
