The Mauveater is worried that someone will see him eyeing the dandelion. He's only supposed to eat ants... but he can't stand the little buggers. They wriggle on the way down.

Wow, thanks! I love Ursula's work, so your comment made me all warm and fuzzy. =) I used her "scribbly and ink" tutorial to texture the background.

great pic and i'm impressed you used gouache on clayboard. that doesn't seem like two mediums that would go together happily. Great work!

Thanks! Yeah, it was an odd combination... it doesn't do very well with smooth clayboard, but if you get gessoboard or clayboard textured, it behaves a lot like watercolor paper.

...just aaaw! It's simple and has this nice and warm feeling to it. And it shows your inspiration by Ursulav works- I simply adore that kind of background...plus- the choice of colours is very nice too.
