Her size varied quite a bit in some of the early drawings of her. I now imagine her quite a bit smaller than he is, with her head not quite reaching his waist, as demonstrated here.
Well, honestly, I never did a ton with these two characters, so I don't know how much there really was for you to "miss." And especially when it's been this long since I've drawn them, they're a bit open to reinterpretation.
You know, I had an idea years ago to write a story about how they met, but I don't think I ever actually did it. Maybe I should revisit that.
