I did this one in grey-scale for variety. I scanned it in grey-scale anyway, as the original markers I used were warm greys and cool greys- not the best of combinations, but it was what I had.

I never used it at all until about three years ago, when
and I were first getting together. It was his program and tablet, and I had so much fun experimenting with it on some photographs I had, I decided to really learn how to use it. Seriously, though? I'm still a rank amateur at that program. I know some artists who blow my socks off without even trying hard.

Scares me silly, too, how well some folks can paint- traditional or digital. anyone who sez that Photoshop does all the work for you and allows anyone to make "good" art doesn't know what the frak they're talking about. If you're a talentless hack, no paint program will help you. If you put in the same kind of effort in Photoshop as you do in "real" media, that effort will pay off. Skill is skill- I can't think of a digital artist who also doesn't kick ass in "real" media, too. If you're any good at all, it'll show in whatever media you choose to use, in my opinion.
Indeed! I fell in love with Photoshop because of that very aspect: I can't afford to ruin a piece with an error I can't remove, so the paint program is such a boon for me. I make stupid goofs in my art all the time, and that can take a toll on one's patience, let alone pocketbook. One of the greatest benefits for me is that I can create something beautiful with little more than light and some electricity. Effects I can't afford to create in real life due to the sheer cost of paints and other materials are things I can still try and learn... on a screen.
