Now that I've added several new classes to the ones found in the Core Book for The Shadow of the Dog Lord Roleplaying Adventure Game, I've had quite a lot of feedback from the guys I run my game with. These players have suggested characters they'd like to play at some point, and their options and ideas have covered most of the classes.
The only one that's been neglected s the minstrel.
Understandably why, it's mostly due to the rather comical portrayal of the Bard in the classic 3.5 D&D. I mean, who played a serious bard anyway?
Now, in The Shadow of the Dog Lord, there are no penalties for wearing armour and playing instruments/singing, nor does the game require you to pick up feats to gain proficiency in a weapon (combat is skill based).
So I drew this sketch of a wolf minstrel, probably a herald of the Tar-Koldor army carrying an arming rapier (the weapons that does the third most damage in the game) and wearing a Tar-Koldor brigandine (which, in the game, provides more damage reduction than standard leather armour.
Enjoy her singing.

Oh, SotDL's always had it (the new ones are Archer, Craftsman, Loremaster, and Mariner), and it's always been pretty broken...no one wanted to play it though
I once played a chaotic evil bard that used his singing to control people ala the Musicmeister...it was glorious fun
