The engine is shot.. Like.. Bad.. So I'm gonna make this my new daily, and the Miata is gonna be a mountain/track/weekend toy for now. Gonna have a new engine in that about.. Mid year or so.

haha, that's awesome. That's a really good car to go to cons in, real comfortable on the road, if I had the funds for two cars I'd totally get something like that for road trips and such.

Just check the fluid in the trans, these 4L60 transmissons like clean fluid

But if its black or brown I would strongly recommend leaving it alone. The discoloration is the clutch packs inside the trans have broken down into particulate. If you change the trans fluid I would immensely recommend getting a full repair kit. Which is clutchs snap rings an gaskets. The metal parts should be all good. =^-^= Grats on new car tho, you should hear mine >.>

If it's a 3.4, get the coolant exchanged.

Heck, if it still has DexCool, get it exchanged with a premium universal coolant.

DexCool likes to go corrosive, and if that is a 3.4 and has never had a coolant exchange done on it, I can almost guarantee you're looking at getting the lower intake manifold gasket replaced in the slightly near future. If it hasn't already been done.

Not bad. Just a hell of a lot different than the 88 my mom had but then again, there would be an obvious age difference between em............... oh I'd say about 20 years difference. Either way not bad. ^..^
