Few work harder and yet get lass far than Sting, a dragon once proud to serve two magicorns of great power, but left in dismay upon their sudden disappearance.
From that day forward, she struggled to find a place where she could belong, watching from afar as the foal of her masters was swept out of her reach. She remained desperate to have a relationship with the foal she had helped raise, though, it became increasingly apparent that this would not be possible.
As Appolonia grew in power and prestige, the dragon was dismissed again and again as she found her low self esteem as an unconscious baracade to effective work. Left with a deep terror that she is a useless member of her glorious society, Sting becomes trapped in her mind, overthinking and overfretting. This does her no good, simply leading to a rather unfortunate trend of clumsiness. Working in the gardens, she trampled the flowers, in Marzipan's store she knocked over displays and Tinker Hooves simply would not let the dragon anywhere near her workshop. Still, she does not give up hope, keeping herself optimistic despite each set back and despite her fears. Crikey encourages the dragon to remain chipper, helping build her confidence by giving her minor responsibilities around the island of Tiamat.
Remaining on the island is also an effective way to keep her away from Cinders, Ashe and Spark who target her with mockery for her failures.
