This is based off of a very old painting by Hseuh Ching Mao. I’ve always loved the way high mountains seem to blend with the sky, the way that snow seems to bridge the gaps between what is real and what isn’t – between the cold, solid mountain and the ethereal sky. I wanted to capture a scene that challenges the viewer to differentiate what he or she sees – where does the snowscape end, and the cloud cover begin?
