The cutest, most kick-tail boy in the room, no matter where it is. <3

Skyler has been in a couple of different settings since I first created him for Pathfinder, but it doesn't change his story very much.
He was acquired at a very young age by a theocracy in a desert land, and grew up in the walls of their temple. That isn't to say it was a happy life though, since he was viewed as a heretic, and his very existence was blasphemous, given he was a Tiefling. They had no real tolerance for those whose blood was tainted with that of a demon, but thought they could make some use of him regardless. He was kept as a slave for many years, and used as an executioner of sorts. A monster to fight and kill those who the religion had deemed were deserving of death in a gladiatorial ring. He had some instinct to carry him through the early years, but instinct alone couldn't ensure his survival against armed men.
Many of the clerics of this religion were warriors, mixing martial disciplines and magic into their meditation and exercise. The young tiefling would watch them whenever he could, trying hard to mimic their movements and learn how to fight in the seclusion of his cage. It was hard work, but it began to pay off in the ring. Eventually, he caught the attention of one particular priest, and she began to take pity on the young man kept by her order for blood sport. She would quietly perform small acts of kindness, slipping him an extra ration here and there, healing his wounds surreptitiously, and ensuring he wasn't utterly miserable. And she began to practice more advanced techniques in his view, teaching from a distance.
It wasn't to last, however, as the leadership of the sect discovered the growing bond of friendship between the cleric and the heretic. They were determined to cut this sacrilege off at the root, and dragged the young man out in chains of light to put an end to his corruption. The kind cleric, forced to watch, took action at a critical moment, causing a distraction and allowing the tiefling to escape his bonds. They fled together, intent to leave the temple behind forever, but they faced the might of the entire order. She gave her life to ensure his escape, something he regrets to this day.
Her effort wasn't in vain, however, because he escaped into the desert and evaded the priests who hunted for him. It was over a year before he reappeared, when he sneaked into civilization and was found by a group of adventurers. One man took pity on the half-wild half-demon, and adopted him in order to raise and train the young man properly. It was from his new father that he got the name Skyler.
Now, Skyler has grown into a capable warrior, mastering the ways of martial arts. He has honed his body into weapon, along with perfecting the use of his staff and mastering the art of mobility, and has even began to tap into the mystical energy around and inside of him. He's always up for an adventure, and wants to protect others from the evil of the world, just like he was once protected.
He can tend to be very driven to succeed, always pushing to come out on top, and can sometimes be borderline arrogant about his skill. It hurts him to lose, and he hates to be reminded of his failures, so he seeks to bury them under overwhelming success. If he can succeed and win, he'll still see himself as worthy of the care and love others have invested into him. But while he can be overly proud of himself, he still has a good heart and wants nothing more than to help others.
Oh my goodness, but Selva drew me the most beautiful boy! He looks so absolutely fantastic and I'm in total love with him. <3
The design process was so much fun! I hardly had to make any changes as we went along, almost like he was sitting right there for reference the whole time. Selva really got him, and nearly every proposition and idea was totally in line with his character and personality.
He's got such an incredible physique, a really handsome and stronk figure! All those muscles are perfect for both raw power and athletic movement. His scale pattern is just perfect, with amazing details and great proportions for the placement of his little ember spots. That tail is heccin' amazing, perfectly balanced for strength and flexibility and with an awesomely-done spade! And I'm so in love with how well his facial features came out! Eyes and ears and tongue and that fluffy hair and his curvy horns and just all the sexiness~
You might notice his eyes take on a bit of a colored sheen when he's experiencing strong emotions, by the way. ;3
All in all, I'm so happy with how he turned out! I've loved this boi ever since I first created him, and it's only gotten stronger each time I play with him. So having a reference sheet this absolutely awesome is such an incredible feeling! I can't wait to get more done and show off all his adventures and everything!
And, just to make it official, Skyler will be joining Draxxus and Skye as one of my 'sonas! He's a really special demon boy, and I've connected with him a lot. <3
Thank you so much for drawing this! It's really an honor to have. X3

This is meant to be fairly generic, but his original incarnation was a Tiefling Monk in Pathfinder!
