A weight-gain piece starring a unicorn mage I made a while ago named Alexi, along with the incredibly fattenable King Raf. Just a small little thing for practicing weight-gain, honestly :3
Alexi is brought in to help King Raf lose weight, but his magic proves unpredictable at best...
A Kingly Shape
By: Indi
Alexi couldn’t help but let his gaze wander as he found himself standing in a throne room for the first time. Extravagant banners covered the walls and rich carpets the floor. They were predominantly pink and silver, the colors of the royal House of Gaines. The guards and many of the loyal officials in the room also sported the two colors to some degree. Alexi’s own mane was coincidentally pink, and the silver ring on the unicorn’s horn made him feel like a regular part of the court. Even his round belly didn’t seem out of place thanks to the King.
Seated on the throne before Alexi was the fattest hyena he’d ever seen. He was dressed in robes that did nothing to disguise his considerable heft, and as he shifted in his throne his middle jiggled noticeably. He’d been scowling since Alexi had entered. At first the unicorn feared he was in King Raf’s poor graces, but he’d soon realized the monarch was simply perpetually grumpy.
Beside the King stood a smiling, blue jay as fat as Alexi was. Having let the unicorn wait in silence for quite a few minutes, he finally cleared his throat and spoke.
“I—Minister Indi—welcome you to the court of our most serene highness, King Raf! Thank you for answering our call to aid in the King’s weighty predicament.”
There was a low, yet audible growl from King Raf, who seemed to scowl twice as hard in the direction of Indi. Either the blue jay didn’t notice, or didn’t care.
“It’s an honor to aid you, my liege.” Alexi attempted a shallow bow, but gave up once he felt the buttons of his robe straining to handle his gut. He’d been treated to a series of feasts upon arriving, and was already understanding just why so many of the kingdom’s citizens were portly.
“The best mages, alchemists, and clerics in the kingdom have tried to help King Raf lose weight, and their efforts have all ended in admittedly comical failure. He’s actually doubled in size since our quest began!” Indi declared.
King Raf blushed in embarrassment and mumbled under his breath. None of the guards reacted to the thinly veiled teasing of their king, and Alexi guessed it was a recurring event.
“My Liege, I’d say being a couple pounds shy of literally doubling in size still counts as doubling in size. Though if you’d like I can simply state the actual numbers instead if you’d feel more comfortable that way.” The King rapidly shook his head, though the grumbling continued. “Alright, now that that’s settled you’re free to begin, Alexi.”
“Yes, yes. Now I’m not sure what your own mages tried, but as a master of expansive magic I should have no trouble slimming you down, your highness,” Alexi said with pride.
King Raf already didn’t look convinced. “How is expansive magic supposed to make me smaller?”
“Well expansive magic wont, but in learning that I also of course learned how to undo expansion, which is basically like weight-loss. Basically.” Had Alexi not spoken with such confidence he likely would’ve been turned away immediately. “You’ll be back to your lean self in no time, my Liege!”
The silver ring on Alexi’s horn began to glow, and then so did the horn itself. With an unintelligible muttering and a nod of his head a ray shot out from the horn, striking King Raf right in the belly. The hyena wobbled in surprise as he was struck, a light chill surging through his body. All eyes in the room shifted towards his royal gut.
Within seconds it was clear King Raf’s middle was changing. It wasn’t shrinking though—it was expanding. King Raf frowned as his belly grew rounder, the hyena fattening up all over. His robes tightened, buttons creaking in protest and seams threatening to rip. Raf’s face was a mix of frustration, fury, and embarrassment. By the time the weight-gain ceased he’d put on a solid fifty pounds.
“Mage,” King Raf growled. “How exactly is this making me thinner!”
Alexi winced, too nervous to notice Minister Indi was chuckling at the failure. “I...I don’t understand, my Liege! The spell should’ve undone any recent changes in weight.”
“Oh, then in that case it worked perfectly,” Minister Indi said. “The last mage who tried to magically slim King Raf down only managed to deal with a few dozen pounds. He nearly burned himself out pulling even that off. I wonder if he’s managed to recover yet?”
“N-No need to worry, I can get rid of that weight with ease! I’ve got a weight-transfer spell that’s always worked. I’ll just transfer those new pounds onto me, and then we can spread the weight around after that.” Alexi wasn’t thrilled to get fatter himself, but the reward for succeeding would’ve made the gains worth it. Besides, he’d ended up quite massive in the past on occasion.
There was a murmuring of unease amongst the officials and guards, none of whom seemed eager to plump up on behalf of their king. King Raf didn’t turn down the offer, but also didn’t appear convinced it would do much.
Again the ring and horn glowed, and this time the tingling of magic was felt both by King Raf and Alexi. The mage knew something hadn’t quite gone right the second his robes felt looser—and King Raf’s cursing grew louder. Sure enough, Alexi was rapidly losing weight while the King was rapidly gaining it.
The buttons of King Raf’s robe were strained even further, barely holding on by a thread. His cheeks grew rounder, his paws plumper, his belly bouncier. A faint creak came from the throne.
Before the King could even growl a word Alexi was waving one hoof in apology while the other held up his pants. “Just a slight miscalculation my Liege, I swear! I’d never tried to transfer weight from another to myself before, and I guess the spell just doesn’t work in reverse like that! Thankfully I can just undo it and we’ll go from there.”
A glow and a tingle, and just like that Alexi was getting fatter. He breathed a sigh of relief as his clothes began to fit again. As his belly swelled he patted it happily, feeling whole. His smile was shared by Minister Indi...but not by King Raf. Alexi looked up in shock. King Raf hadn’t lost a single pound.
“Oh...um, it does make a degree of sense that the spell would only undo my own transformation.” Alexi fidgeted with his mane nervously. “Again, not a specific situation I’ve had to deal with before, but it’s always good to learn something new!”
“Indeed!” Minister Indi said with what might’ve been a hint of glee. “With that combination of spells we could immobilize someone—not that I can think of an immediate use of such knowledge. Though an immobile king would be rather hard to kidnap…”
“We’re trying to make me lighter, not heavier!” Raf grumbled, frowning at his new bulk. In only a few minutes he’d managed to gain a hundred pounds, and he was beginning to doubt the weight could ever be lost.
Alexi was rushing through the list of spells he knew, desperately trying to find a way to salvage his reputation. Eventually something came to mind. “King Raf, give me one more chance to prove myself!”
The unicorn concentrated as much magic into his horn as he could, causing it to glow so brightly no one could look at it directly. He began mixing and layering a variety of spells somewhat recklessly. It was an untested creation, and more than once Alexi forgot something he’d weaved into it.
The spell could’ve been a masterpiece or a horror—but the truth would never be known. During the convoluted process of putting the spell together a button on Alexi’s robe popped off, startling the unicorn into casting it prematurely. Light washed over the entire throne room, hitting everyone in it. There was a gasp of confusion followed by silence.
Then the swelling began.
Everyone started fattening simultaneously, without exception. Guards yelped as their armor became tighter and tighter, straps snapping and plates falling to the floor in a clatter. Officials whimpered as their fancy robes were slowly shredded. King Raf let out an exasperated sigh as his own robes failed, buttons bursting and seams tearing. His blubbery sides pressed against the arms of his throne, which creaked more and more with each passing second.
The thin grew fat and the fat grew fatter.
Alexi frantically cast a spell on his own clothing to make it more durable, though he was only partially successful. Buttons were still lost and seams strained, his belly peeking out as it got doughier. Minister Indi actually seemed fairly content with his gains. The blue jay laughed as his belly jiggled free of his outfit, talons already squeezing and wobbling it.
For a couple minutes every belly in the room ballooned outward, but to most it felt like an eternity. There was relief when the swelling ended, but it was replaced by mournful chatter as the reality of the gains sunk in.
King Raf was too flustered to fume. He was firmly wedged in his groaning throne, every wiggle causing him to jiggle. His expression was constantly shifting, his face bright red. The fact everyone else had shared his fate gave him little solace. After all, he was still somehow the fattest in the room by a considerable margin.
“M-Mage!!” King Raf managed, before his throne gave in and collapsed beneath his girth. The impact left him dazed.
Minister Indi waddled over to the fallen King, far more amused than concerned. He turned to face Alexi, who was clearly on the verge of panic. “Well it looks like this was a bust, unfortunately. Thank you for your time, Alexi—I do believe some good came from this at least.” Indi happily tapped on his belly with both talons. “The views in the palace will be extra lovely for a while—and our royally rotund liege will be no exception~”
There was a grumble and a wobble from the immense hyena, who didn’t seem capable of doing much else at the moment. Seeing his chance to flee, Alexi bowed and burst another button before waddling as fast as he could out of the throne room. When he opened the doors he discovered the guards just outside were also dealing with new bellies and shed armor, and a servant further down the hall was barely mobile. How powerful had the spell been?
Leaving the city as soon as possible suddenly seemed rather ideal for the bumbling mage. At least no one would be chasing after him too quickly.
