Prologue – Digital History and Legends Past

The Digital World, a place that came into being alongside the technological age created by humans. Unlike the real world, evolution occurred here at an extraordinary pace, and kept time with all technological leaps made in the real world. In the ether of this newfound landscape, primitive programs came to life. These primitive programs would evolve into what we now know as Digimon. These Digimon started off small and simple but in time became complex and intelligent. An entire civilization was created…all in the gutters of cyberspace.

This new Digimon civilization invariably ran into the same problems as human civilizations. Greed, corruption, sloth…the sins of any intelligent race were now owned by the Digimon just as much as humans. Evil crept up and threatened to destroy what good remained in the digital world. And for a time, evil seemed to be winning. The good Digimon stood by, silently condemning the powerful evils that walked across the land. And now they were on the brink of disaster.

By this time, they knew of another world that existed parallel to theirs. A world of creatures called humans. Desperate, they sought help from this other world. But there was a problem; a gap lay between these worlds. They could interact with one another but were unable to bring humans to the digital world. The good Digimon were not about to give up hope just yet. They turned their hope into action and constructed a way to save their world: the Digivice. It served as a link between the heart, mind, and souls of humans and Digimon. It is willpower made into a physical form, drawing upon the wielder's inner strength and transferring it to his or her Digimon partner. And with its power, the gap between worlds could be breached.

With the Digivice's power, young humans leaped across the gap, and the war with the darkness could be fought in earnest. There are tales of chosen Digidestined heroes battling in parallel conflicts. Some wielded the power of sacred Crests. Others donned Armor from the ancient past. Some Merged with their Digimon Partners. While others combined with legendary Spirits to become Digimon. The power of a Bursting Soul propelled one group to victory. And another team could Xros the strength of many Digimon into one. The power of the humans turned out to be far greater than what the evil Digimon could have imagined. And thus they were defeated. In time, the Digital World became a land of peace once more. But time is a river...and history repeats itself.

This is no such grandiose tale. Nor is it the warm story of a budding friendship between a child and a monster. This is the story of a solo Digimon. One who ever wanders under the vast sky, seeking something. Her pale green eyes show few hints of what lies within. Of the turmoil that lurks below the surface.
