So I'm also jumping on the Art Improvement Meme bandwagon as well. I did things a little different though, so I'm posting this in two parts. Although my art improved a lot from 2003 to 2010, by that time I had a rather defined style already. Some of the more interesting stuff comes from before 2003 when my art was all over the place, so I'm posting both.
There are so many furry artists who's art I love and am so impressed with. One of the things that really got me as I looked at their memes was how young they were when they started, some as young as 11. I didn't start drawing furries until I was 21, with only a year an a half left of college. In fact, the very idea to draw cartoon characters didn't even occur to me until then, despite being a lifelong animation fan. I had no art education to speak of and have had to learn all this on my own.
You see that crappy scan of Mrs. Brisby on the yellow paper in the upper left of the 1997 row? That's what started the whole thing. One day in what may even have been late 1996(I don't remember honestly), I tried drawing Mrs. Brisby from memory. To my astonishment I actually pulled it off. I looked at it and thought,"Holy shit! I can draw NIMH characters!" I just went nuts from there.
Now, look at the 1998 row. That's my first drawing of Chucky. Based off Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks, and not such a bad coloring job in Corel Photo-paint. He's changed a lot hasn't he?

any time . Yeah I didn't draw as much when I was young because I had no one to show my art to, and I needed some help with drawing better. Then I discovered deviantART and that really helped me. This site had also helped me improve my art I had always drawn animals and furries, because I always failed at drawing humans. I admit it, furries are way more fun to draw than humans
yeah, my earliest drawings didn't look good at all. But after years of practice, I got it down. Some people don't like furries though, but I think they don't know that famous animal cartoon characters would be labled as furries. With me, I love animals and furries, no matter how human they can be
Funny story. I went out to eat with the girl I was dating at the time and on the restaurant dessert menu they listed 'chocolate Mouse' instead of chocoloate mousse. So I went home and drew a picture of her laying naked in a desert cup pouring chocolate syrup on herself.
