Damn....the expression of peki is telling A LOT! Adelgund probably did not though that much, she did not realized how troubling and humiliating that situation would be for Peki. But does not make anything better!
Now we see that Peki had soem good reason behind her betrayal, also te whole "wild" ism is more serious than we thougt. At least for those who are suffering from it.!

It's why I'm not gonna condemn Nyarai for switching. Sure, she's a royal cunt, and Muko probably didn't deserve her ire (God knows what Peki did). But it seemed more like Shun took advantage of where she was at in her life.
And who knows why Shun is doing what he's doing. Maybe he's more the irredeemable prick. Maybe he himself is a 'wild.'
They hinted at this stuff heavily in the Nyarai-focused chapter early on. Probably the best foreshadowing payoff so far.
Funny how everyone suddenly thinks Adelgund is so awful. Like no one's ever made a dunderheaded decision and not realized how much something affected another. We already knew Adelgund was a bit of a meathead, if a lovable one.

Oh but i don't blame Adel too much. She is good girl, but she is also not too clever on soem less pragmatic elements. From her point of view is no biggie she still fight together with her friend, and after all is all a charade, in some way seeing it as "protecting the egg while faking to damage it". Failing to see that is definitely not the same thing.
Frankly, I understand that Ade; does have some goodness in her. She isn't some bigot but she should have rather done something to stand up against this idea of making her partner/friend become the heel half of the team. But her meatheaded thinking dosen't let her think hard on how Peki could be affected by this "turn heel" idea.
I was thinking the other day of how when Shun first took over the match and Nyarai and Peki betrayed their teams, both Shun and Nyarai talked something about how this how wilds were being treated unfairly and that they had to rise up against their non-wild managers and teammates to be free. This may have been true with the case with Pekii and her forced to play "prisoner" for being a wild.

That crossed my mind as well. Peki opposed the idea of turning against Adel and pretending to be a heel /villain in this flashback page. But in sad irony she'll become a [b][REAL villain/b] by joining an actual crime lord and thus her betrayal of Dinedon and Adel will become real and non-keyfabe for a change under Shun. As Adel herself pointed out earlier in the chapter, being in league with a dirty criminal Shun marked Peki as an actual criminal. Same as Cookie pointed out to Nyarai. For Peki to turn against her former team may have some justified reasons, I have to wonder why she didn't take a higher road and just quit the team?
Man, it was obvious from the start but it's still amazing how all the major characters in this comic have major problems that ruin things for themselves and each other.

It was apalling to me. Then again, it's a comic that emphasizes a lot of fanservice. Still, people seemed more shocked by the idea that a villain can have halfway-logical motives.
Not that it necessarily justifies the villain, but people understand why they do what they do.
And people are also ignoring the fact that Adelgund has been established as an oblivious meathead. Hell, she hasn't picked up on Muko maybe not being the craziest about her.

AS a man that was exposed to certain fiction that had the "Villain has a good cause to becoming a villain" trope before this comic, I did feel Peki had a good reason to turn against Adel and Dinedon. But yeah, it is shocking over that that reason was, for me as well as for many others.
It just hit me that Peki's whole thing with Adelgund also helps answer a burning question.
The combat is real, but it is televised. Adelgund holds back because people don't like seeing absolute destruction and evisceration of pretty girls.
There's kayfabe (I seriously don't think they froze that beast barbarian fighter in a block of ice for realsies, plus the manager shows up in a judge outfit and all that), but I don't think it's scripted. The matches tend to be arranged beforehand, but as we've seen, the ending is not written out (which is why Cookie's backdoor deal is such a big shocking revelation).

I need to see how Adelgund treated her when they weren't performing. Like if she treated Peki like shit in and out of the ring then she would be justified in splitting the team, but if she's just acting like this because of how she was asked to perform then that would be pretty petty.
