I was meaning to ask, how would you approach gradient markings using this technique?
My main character has gradients on her shoulders and I'm not sure how I'd shade that if I went this route o:

They're done with clipping layers and different layers per color in the gradient and then I just try and mimic the shading as close as possible to the base color. My fursona has a gradient tail and back markings so I feel the pain.
