With it sticking out there, people automatically assume it's an invitation to feel.

And it's gives the mom-to-be carte blanche to firmly grab that hand,
and say "NO" in a firm and angry manner.

it's not your fault. the era opened up with that burglar won the court case against the homeowners he was robbing because he broke his leg or something in the middle of doing it.

There have been many times I wanted to touch, but something always keeps me bak..

It's this notion... normally a person's (or even an animal's) belly isn't so sensitive. After the first trimester of pregnancy though the womb is basically pushed out, and this the most important part of the female reproductive system is out in the open. Stroking on a pregnant woman's belly then ought to be considered the same as molestation.

Which makes for a good reason (if not the best reason) to
not touch.

I've lucked out in that just now, at 9 months, I'm finally starting to look pregnant to people who don't actually know me. So I've escaped the random strangers touching so far (a couple acquaintances have patted me before I could say something though, yuck!), but I have started getting a lot of stares and some nasty looks from people, which I suspect is because I look around 15 instead of 30.

But people at furry cons oftentimes in their excitement have a distinct neglect of others' personal space. I know I'm probably going to get patted anyway but I was hoping maybe the journal would help a tiny bit. :)
