I've been quite fascinated with the Persona series lately. Wishing I could find an affordable way to play one TwT
But, in general I love mindscapes and shadows/real selves as a story telling mechanic. And the use of mythology is just- MMph- delicious!
So, while experimenting with pencil crayons, wanting to see what I could really push myself to make, I drew this! A sort of, Alternate Universe version where the Wendigo curse that grips Avaline isn't a literal "she transforms into a monster" curse. But more her monstrous desires are kept to the realm of the personas and shadows.

The Inversed Chariot: Self-Discipline, Opposition, Lack of Direction
..........
Avaline was always a bit of a moody person, prone to isolating herself during emotional or stressful times. Capable of lashing out when she didn't know how to deal with feelings of emptiness. But, the longer she wallowed in her own self-forged loneliness, the more twisted her hearts desire became. She began to try to fill the emptiness inside of her with all manner of hedonistic excesses- food, sex, alcohol, drugs, just never enough to give her any sense of meaning. Always feeling full but still starving.
Her self-destructive behavior earned her greater isolation- and those that didn't give up on her, she began to view as possessions of a sort. For if she didn't cling to them, they'd disappear like everything else.
This constant void inside of her, and her endless desire for more distractions, more attention, more indulgence. Twisted her shadow; into a being of constant desire.
Shadow Avaline is a hedonistic reflection of herself, dwelling in a rotting reflection of the down-town area she lives in the real world. The mists just barely obscuring fencing, wires, and bars- a massive cage. Where everyone is constantly longing to fill their voids. Her palace.
The Shadow is prone to mood swings, violent outbursts, and threats of ownership and even cannibalism. Airing bravado and dominant whims.
Her treasure, is an unfinished comic script. A passion project that she'd begun long ago with collaborative writers and artists that she grew up with. Whom all moved on. She feels she could never fill the void that they left behind, nor finish the script that is a black hole in her creative endeavors. Taking it- and letting go of the past- would remove the lack of direction that plagues her.
When pushed into a corner, threat of her treasure being taken. Shadow Avaline becomes the Spirit of Gluttony, the Wendigo. A massive deathly thin undead monster, constantly shoveling more of anything into its mouth to sate an appetite with no ending. It's stomach just a hole to nothingness.
Upon being jolted from her twisted desires by having her treasure taken, Avaline realized how she's been treating the people that never gave up on her. And the people that she kept her pain and secrets from that she would lash out at; but just wanted to know her. To help. With profuse apologizing, she strives to be a better person, and stop endlessly taking and isolating herself.
With their help, she finds a direction once again and stops aimlessly drifting.
