Introducing Captain Marie Wildheart, ship master of The Venerable Abyss. An explorer-turned-pirate, Marie has ventured out beyond the horizons to places long forgotten, and discovered things that should never have been uncovered. A renegade to many, but a demon to those who know the truth, good honest sailors pray they'll never come across this infamous pirate... but it seems your luck has run out!
The Venerable Abyss appeared as if from a nightmare, snaring your ship by some unknown means and overwhelming your defences in a matter of moments. With your hull devastated by a crippling broadside, you and your shipmates had tried to abandon ship, but something had capsized your boat, lifting it beneath you and tossing it through the air. You plunged into the sea and before you had even resurfaced, the tiny launch had been reduced to nothing more than a splintered, broken wreck. But how? Your fellow crew were nowhere to be seen as you clung to a piece of driftwood, and before your very eyes, you watched as your sundered vessel cracked and plunged into the depths, as if dragged down by some unseen force. The Venerable Abyss cast its shadow over you, and up on the deck, you saw her watching you...
And now here you are, on your knees before Captain Wildheart herself, clamped in irons and utterly defenceless. She grins down at you, a predatory gleam in her eyes as she greets you.
"Welcome aboard, slave..."
This commission took a while to finish due to some poor health on my part, but happily it doesn't seem to have hurt the final product! I must say, I'm very pleased with this piece, and I'm very grateful to my friend Plat for giving me permission and encouraging me to make this the base for my first YCH experiment (seriously, Plat, thank you for your unwavering support).
