While peering through my gallery, I realised I'd never uploaded this here!

I'd been looking for something different to do this year in May. Don't get me wrong, I love Mermay and drawing mermaids, but I wanted try my hand at something this year!

In came Sam Guay, of SamGuayArt, who introduced me to his #Mayshroom challenge! Though with my school/work schedule at the time I wasn't be able to participate every day, I will be making illustrations based on a few of those fascinating mushroom species, starting with the Clavaria zollingeri, or Violet Coral. Imma just pretend it's ..always May!

I never knew about this beautiful little fungus' existence, and I was absolutely fascinated by it. The little stalks reminded me of stompy little feet, and so this magical little toad creature came into existence.

I created this piece using my new Winsor & Newton ProMarkers and BrushMarkers, that were gifted to me by a dear friend, and a bit of white gelpen for accents. I'm still getting the hang of using these markers, but it's great fun and I hope to be able to show you more soon!
