Thanks go to my friend for the Gaelic translation. It reads: "May his soul be on the right hand of God." This lone wolf kneels beside the grave of a lost loved one. Maybe a brother-in-arms, maybe a mate, maybe a cub. Who knows?
I've wanted to draw a Scottish wolf ever since I read a lot of White Wolf's lore on the many Scottish packs of werewolves that roam. . . or once roamed. . . the Highlands. I also just. . . wanted to draw a Claymore. Because. . . awesome.
This is traditional media (another of my attempts to escape the CLUTCHES of digital art) and I will now undergo the long and arduous task of listing all media involved:
Copic/Prismacolor Markers
Micron pen
Prismacolor Pencils
Watercolor
Acrylic Pen
Acrylic paint
And BLOOD. BLOOOOOOOOOD! No seriously. . . I cut my finger on an acrylic paint tube. Them things is sharp. . . .
Will be for sale in the FC 2010 artshow. . . I say trepidatiously.

The very stange title lead me to belive of a more happier side to this picture alas, I was proved wrong.
But for it seems this shows me a side of tranquil and peace, and the carvings on the rock, I think i know what they mean. But from the title i was thinking of him rolling around in the water, But it's very well done.

It seems a little too two dimensional. It's unclear where the light is coming from. I don't get a real sense of the distance between the wolf and the wall behind him either.
The colors are nice though. Make me think of an oil painting like the ones I see on Antiques Roadshow.
