(Mello can't currently talk right now due to being frozen in ice, so my human self will provide the description for this drawing.)

I'm not sure if I shared this yet, but Mello is canonically a pescetarian, so the only meat he has to primarily meet his protein needs is fish, although he also has a healthy variety of nuts and soy; of course, most of his diet is based on fruits and vegetables, plus he likes relaxing with friends at cafés a lot. On a personal level, the idea of most meat existing in anthropomorphic animal worlds is strange to me, so I like to imagine only non-anthropomorphic fish being the exception to that rule.

As for this whimsical drawing, Mello and Glass were on a trip to a much colder state with Leo and his boyfriend, with Mello being really hungry when they got to an iced-up pond; he didn't eat anything during the long trip until then, so when he saw an exposed hole near the shore, he had the instinctive and rather stupid idea to stick his head in the water, presumably to try to catch a fish... As you can see, that idea was very much regrettable, but Mello's fur should keep him from feeling too cold until the ice melts... I think. There weren't even any fish, a really sad outcome, but Leo will probably make him some strawberry pastries later.
