A small sketch on what is happening here in Siberia.
Forest fires in Siberia began last month and their scale has reached 3 million hectares to date. The government of our country decided not to put out the fires, as it is economically disadvantageous.
And only recently, when the whole world felt the consequences of forest fires in Siberia, the Russian government decided to use aviation forces to extinguish fires.
Why it was impossible to eliminate the fires in the early stages? I don’t know ... sometimes it seems to me that the government and the president of the Russian Federation think little about the welfare of their citizens.
But I am glad that large-scale fire fighting has begun today. At present, 700 000 hectares have been extinguished from the fire.
I apologize to everyone to whom our forest fires caused inconvenience! I hope this ends soon.
