Why would he do that?

Because he have feel something. He want to be generous with her just for this night. Maybe for love ? No It just want to be sure she will not in danger or out of energy. It's just a begin feeling of friends.

So, I think this passage is very importante. I feel you want to make fox in danger later and make krystal more powerful. Something like "You have begin to take care about me...It's my turn now !"

Dunno if he's fallen in love, but I think he likes her. Must be refreshing to be around someone a little more innocent and a little less cynical. Could be a breath of fresh air into his life.

I'm just trying to figure out why he seems to like her so much. Even if he doesn't know why yet himself.

I don't think he likes her 'that much' but i like to think that he respects her resilience and stubborness to keep her values and principles that are relatively lost in war and hardship, y'know? Even if it may seem naive to him. It's like a touch of admiration and cynicism.

I suppose that makes sense. Can't blame someone for wanting to hang on to their values despite the pragmatism war often requires.
