Over the last 2 years I have had repeated fails with castles. At this point I just have to embrace the subject and let time take over.
I'm trying to learn a real cartoony kind of castle style one that fits the toony world of anthro characters.
My old study chart is retired over the last 9 months i did a half way good job in hitting anatomy but a piss poor job in most other areas. Its a new year and i got a new chart. Im going to try and hit this study chart far harder then the last.

Nice picture, but if you aimed for cartoony style then it's a fail - however it's awesome for fantasy style! This picture style is used commonly in early D&D books, that you could play as "decide your fate" style. Example: Ian Livingstone's Deathtrap Dungeon, and many similar ones...This picture could make it's way to one of those kind of books, it's so awesome.

Slick! I like how this screams "loner academic water mage." He's even got a diving platform so he can "commune with his element of study." Judging by the angle of the rocks this place looks like it gets slammed by winter surf. But the cleanness of the geometry is giving me the sensation that it's been shaped that way. Nice execution.
Aaah... This takes me back to those old fantasy game books, you know, the sort where you can either kiss the orc (go to page 45) or hit it with your axe (go to page 300). The inking here makes me so envious, you have no idea. The contrast between light and dark areas is very striking and just cool all over. :)
Are you familiar with Ian Livingstone's "Fighting Fantasy* series? I *loved* those books. I was happy when I found an entire collection of them in this one antique bookstore. I'm also happy that your picture reminded me of them... Some of the illustrations in the books were also very skillfully drawn.
