When we opened the Laboratory to the public and started working commercially, we expected to encounter some interesting and bizarre cases. However with this particular case, the case of Ms. Cura, we were surprised with what we were presented. Ms. Cura visited us a few weeks back, and asked for a consultation. She initially met with Dr. Grey, and once the situation was explained, Dr. Grey requested Dr. Penny assist him. As it turns out, Ms. Cura suffers from an incredibly rare genetic condition, one so rare none of our doctors had encountered it before. Her DNA seems to be (bizarrely) constantly in flux. It's as if her evolution has been sped up by billions of percent, meaning her body changes and develops to suit her needs. However, this is an imperfect system, and her body reacts too slowly for this to be a benefit. In addition, the changes don't seem to recede. When we met Ms. Cura for the first time, her body, still Humanoid, had developed features akin to both a Feline, and some form of Fish. She explained to us that the Feline features started to develop when she was out at night, the changes kicking in to improve her senses. Seeing in the dark, more refined hearing, etc. The fishier traits simply materialised when she was swimming, and her body believed she needed the ability to breathe in the water. Ms. Cura also told us that she's incredibly worried this could inure or severely effect her. For example, if her body continues to develop into a fish type creature, it's possible she'd be unable to breathe traditionally. For this reason, she contacted us, asking us if there was a way we could stabilise (and in effect, halt) her DNA.
Between Dr. Penny and Dr. Grey, several options were looked at. We went over them with Ms. Cura, and a decision was reached. We'd alter Ms. Cura's body into something more artificial. A cyborg of sorts. Dr. Penny believed that altering her body with Nanomachines, we could more accurately control her DNA. Or, if designed, convert her into something inorganic that would be unaffected by changes to her DNA structure. Ms. Cura seemed excited by this idea, asking if it was possible to add a number of features and elements that would be impossible on an organic body. Ms. Belle went over some of the design choices with Ms. Cura and Dr. Penny, and we started working on a treatment. Unfortunately, this was more complex than our usual treatments, and it took us a few months to put the final product together. Ms. Cura was called in, and the new treatment was administered. To be safe, the changes were initiated slowly, and would impact her body over time. We've kept her here for the time being, to monitor the changes, however early tests show everything going well. We're doing all we can to help her adapt to her new artificial body. She seems to be enjoying the perks of having an synthetic body, and is very pleased with some of her new features.
