Shark Week sequence, AWAY!
Richter Dres coolly watched at his latest project.
Said project was a glove that was now activated, and with which he was touching many old trash, rubbish good for the landfill.
A simple, slightly long touch, and the wastes disintegrated.
This was the genius german's last discovery: a practical application of E=mc² and of the theory of antimatter, that allowed to disassemble matter in "antimatter" and raw energy that were kept in stock and ready to be released.
The possibilities for a civilian use were amazing: the landfill sites could be easily cleaned with it, and the "antimatter" and energy could be recombined to create basic materials, making recycling easy.
Richter made this invention a glove because it was a small, practical item, easy to put on and use, and easy to hide. He kept this discovery secret for now, because he refused to take the slightest risk that the army got interested in it (the implications were horrifying). He was searching for a way to make sure it couldn't work on flesh and living beings before making it public.
But he had no real idea how to do so, and it was frustrating.
Lost in these irritating thoughts, he forgot for a few seconds what he was doing, until a brutal whine from the glove brought him back to reality.
The glove was not working anymore, but was now slightly smoking, and emitting some sparks.
Oh, great, I oversaturated it. I'll have to empty it and make sure I didn't damage it... Let's check the data first.
He thus began, in the lab he had in the basements of the family's secondary mansion, examining the datas recorded in this session.
And dove into it so much he didn't realize that the sparks emitting from the glove on his left hand were turning in full-blown electric arcs...
"What the hell?!" snarled the shark. "Work, you stupid mouse!"
He angrily agitated the mouse, but the cursor on the screen didn't budge.
Exasperated, Richter brought the mouse to his face.
And froze in shock.
The mouse was completely crushed, annihilated in his hand.
His hand that was far too big compared to the mouse.
And that was visibly swelling bigger.
"What the?!"
Ripping noises attracted his attention.
Looking at himself, he realized in shock that it was his entire body that was growing abnormally big, outgrowing his clothes.
In his shocked, verging to panic inspection, the shark saw the glove on his hand, crackling with electric arcs.
And he understood.
The glove! It's glitching! It's reconverting the antimatter and energy in matter! And since it's doing it automatically and without instructions on what to create, it creates more of the easiest template it can access! My body!!
Now fully panicking, the scientist tried to rip the glove away, to no avail.
By pure instinct, he ran away from the lab, trying to get out of the mansion before it was too late (for him or for the mansion, he didn't know and didn't want to know).
But the growth was accelerating. In the time it took him to go from the basement to the first floor, he swelled so big and huge he found himself stuck in the hall.
Immobilized, but still growing, swelling, gaining in mass and power, feeling his clothes end in shreds, pressing against the hall's walls, who were beginning to show little cracks...
