Have you ever considered taking shots in Breath of the Wild? On the Switch, you can take screenshots with the press of a button!
I find it's a bit cheesy drawing over game screenshots, but honestly I think the end result is worth it. I'd love to see more of this adorable character. I think you'd do good comics since you can think beyond just the subject matter itself to incorporate a sense of belief and wonder without overpowering it with too much fetish fuel.
