This one's exceptionally good (I mean, it's done in a way I like), it's got LOTS of lines, and a full palette of light/dark values. Very nice!

the pencil strokes are all SCHWAAAAA! and YEEEOWWWW and stuff--evocative of bad weather...snow...mammals hug each other and stay warm.

Hahaha...sometimes when I'm doing a painting I'll imagine somebody admiring "THE FURY OF THE BRUSH STROKES" and laugh to myself, since when I paint something there's no fury, more like lots of cautious tiptoeing.

Do want to see you drop by the art store and pick up some 4B pencils...and have you ever drawn with charcoal? THAT has some amazing grayscale to black effects. Like soft graphite, it's messy as hell...but the nice thing I've discovered is that charcoal drawings can be sprayed with hairspray or that ultra stinky workable fixative and there's no loss of image quality. Pastels, in my experience, lose a good bit of brightness when you soak 'em in that stuff.
