I randomly got this idea in my head...and just had to draw it. I love Calvin and Hobbes, and this just seemed cute enough to work. Though how often do you see these two smiling that much?
Clip Studio Paint has an awesome set of watercolor brushes. And they basically made this image work. Though I'd say Watterson is a bit better with the whole watercolor thing than I am.
I don't quite remember which book the original illustration comes from.
