In the Winterbough Saga, I use cards like this in a slightly different way. The toymakers of Elfhame have, over the centuries, developed the art of making tiny metal cards with punch-holes, like these. A simple top may use one or two. Sophisticated dolls, a few dozen. Lifelike vulpine automatona, thousands.
