Story written by the commissioner:
Melin had just bought a lucky charm or rather a magical item from a giftshop. The owner said that his sea shell would provide the user the ability to breath under water. Melin had encountered magic before, but rarely nowadays. Magical or not, it was cheap, so she bought it and took a stroll on the beach.
She looked out over the ocean, watching the waves hit near the rocks and on the shore. Melin hoped the magical item would work but had no courage to actually try it right away. She held it out and let it reflect in the sun. The shell sparkled with a beautiful light. It certainly looked magical.
Then suddenly water appeared under Melin’s feet. She hadn’t noticed a wave. Then she saw the water was only rising towards her. A wave came for her, but it bent strangely almost like a limb. Melin could not run away before the wave picked her up pulled her into the ocean. She was pulled far out to where the water started to get really deep and dark.
When the current finally let go of Melin she was several meters under water. But she noticed she didn’t need to breathe; the magical shell worked. Then she noticed her arm twitching and a strange feeling around her legs. Instead of legs, she only saw a big fin. Before another second had gone by Melin felt changes over all her body. A stream of bubbles passed by from under Melin and when it had passed she was no longer human. Instead she had been transformed into a fish. Melin looked at herself the best she could in this new form, but she understood what had happened.
“I am a fish? How did this happen? Where is the shell?” She sighed. “What am I going to do now?”
