This is the second of two pieces envisioning what I thought should appear over the final lines of the film Apollo 13. The first is found here.

These pictures tied into the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landings. Here, my astronaut dreams of standing on the Moon, in a reality where the dream of colonising our silver white celestial neighbour has become a reality. Humans now live on the Moon, mine it for minerals and even have a way for tourists to visit. NASA had hoped it might be this way even today. Even though it's not, I pray some day it will be so.
The words come from Apollo 13, released by Universal Studios. Everything else is my work.

Did we fly to the moon too soon?
did we squander the chance
in the rush of the race
the reason we chase is lost in romance
and still we try to justify the waste
for a taste of man's greatest adventure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died with the eagles' flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why are the seas still dry?
Don't blame this sleeping satellite
Have we lost what it takes to advance?
Have we peaked too soon?
If the world is so green then why does it scream under a blue moon?
