7/21/19: FC'20 themed gift for Kiit-Cyberpunk (Com +story...
This was a commission by LindseySnowSprinkles on FA, and there is a related story to this art (below).
If you remember via journals I did in 2018, I had the idea of having a personal challenge. After being mean to fursuiters in doing schnauzenboppen in 2015 in the convention, Further Confusion (), I did want to change my behavior and be caring by accepting and giving hugs to fursuiters. () Nobody was aware of the plan I wanted to do, but I did have a goal to get 100 fursuit hugs from anyone attending FurCon. I did declare that if somefur got the 100th hug, I would do an art for him/her. I did do this- for the first, any number by 5, the 99th and 100th hugger, I'd get their signature and in my RL self, be posing for the camera with the signature. The terrible thing was that the flash card was defective and did not get all the pictures; and recently, I did get pics of all the fursuiters that attended, but due to something happening to the formatting of the functioning flash card, they were deleted accidentally-the pics for 2016, '17, '18 and '19 were gone! There was no way to show by pictures who was who!
However, I was able to keep the autographs and signatures on paper and upload them to another computer. To return to how I got Kiit Lock as a gift art to him- he was #100 despite that I did not expect him to be it, but I did pick him since he was host for FC's Dance Competition and that he likes to hug. I was thinking of Kai (
thatkrazyk9) doing it as #100, but I felt that getting an unexpected hug from a lesser known fur, it was now or never that I should get a fursuiter that is known by a majority of the FF'dom, and it was Kiit. I found him after FCDC on stage when the overnight dance was on, and I did get his attention to go off the stage for the hug. Well, that time, I remember that he was feeling awkward about this, but I was wanting it to happen. He did autograph a paper, and then hugged me-I was in a elation that I got the hug. I do not think Kiit was, and was a little deadset about my plans. Although, I did ask if I can draw him a thank you art, and I clearly remember him saying "If you want," and somehow left coldly after meeting with Kai in a happy way. Anyway, that behavior did not stop me from getting an art done.
And so, fast forward to this year, I got a volunteer artist that would accept my commission-no, I had the artist COME TO ME for a me to commission an art. First, I thought it was going to be the '18 theme of "Furtastic Beasts," or '19's "FC Goes to the Fair!", but I then saw that there was going to be a possibility that other cons will take FC's theme in 2020 "Cyberpunk-Neo San Jose," and since Kiit will host again in '20's FCDC, I decided to do this theme.
It was an idea from my mind, and using possible wear for Cyberpunk, and of course futuristic accessories for him, I have imagined him being onstage in front of a Stargate-like portal where the fursuit dancers would enter/exit the stage. With a holograph-enabled smartphone to show who is coming, or what he has to say, connected with futuristic cyclops glasses that are joined by a headset that is anatomically correct (note the earphone with antenna) and a red central area that glows, this would be what future announcers, hosts and emcees would wear in such a cyberpunk setting! It was going to be at first like the stage you'd see at FC (Called "proscenium stage") but accidentally, it became "thrust stage" and somehow, I got the idea to put the signature that I got in 2018 from Kiit into the picture thanks to Lindsey. It was a great garnish to the picture and a fine memory of me attaining my goals within the FF'dom. I thank Kiit for helping me reach it, and for Lindsey for drawing this commissioned art for me.
I do hope Kiit likes this! And it can be a longshot, but if this art does end up in a conbook anywhere-especially FurCon's, she would love to have it and cherish it for many years to come. If you do find it, let her know, get another copy of it for her and mail it! I would like a conbook too if this art is shown in a con other than Furcon-let me know as well and I'd like a copy of the conbook too!
And come 2020, I hope Kiit does dress like this!
