Playing around with different concepts for my own little fantasy world... I call these guys "The Fat Vanguard" or "The Belly Archers". The bow is inspired by an old Greek "belly bow" design, which is drawn and anchored by using your body weight. The spiked bat is called a "Goodday" and is a very simple but effective late medieval polearm.
