I know I'm behind on keeping up with some promises to make art for some online friends, but I simply had to make a piece to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's landing on the Moon. It's an event that has made me wonder all my life and moves me any time I think about it. Many of you might feel just as strongly about Stonewall, but I leave it to you to mark that yourselves.
These pages (a second one will follow shortly) were another image I had in my head for a long time and I'm proud to finally get it on paper. The text is the final lines of the film Apollo 13 (released by Universal Pictures, just to give them credit), while the images are storyboarding those which I always felt should have accompanied those moving lines. An astronaut returns to Earth after his perilous voyage to the Moon, then sits lamenting years later, dreaming of being up there and what might have been.
