Unlike its avian counterpart, the Barn Griffin has enjoyed a cordial relationship with humans: being half barn owl and half cat makes it the ultimate vermin-catcher, and unlike its larger cousins is not wont to carry off the sheep when it gets hungry. Despite its eerie hooting and hair-raising catcalls, it is also one of the few griffons known to purr.
Barn Griffins can be spotted at dusk, usually in fields and around farms, and will always give you safe directions through the night, if you ask them politely.
Bawk? Again, me exploring different kinds of griffon* and I came up with this. I wish I had a Barn Griffin living in my back yard!

*I have begun to use "griffon" as the universal spelling of the word, "griffin" to mean specifically a griffon whose feline half is a cat, and "gryphon" to be specifically one whose feline half is lion or tiger.

What a beautiful little griffin. ^^ I really like the colouring job, there's so much different tones and also some white and blue.
Aww, and the face and those little eyes! Barn owls are my favourite owl species alongside eagle owls. You captured the face beautifully! :3
