Maru continued to stir his soup at a steady pace. Not too slow to prevent the ingredients from not mixing properly, and not too fast in such a way that it'd bruise the ingredients. In order to ensure that the soup was perfect for serving, special care in the minute details was absolutely vital.
After timing the boil with his internal clock, the Felcarune decided to take his first taste test, using a different ladle. His fellow subordinates watch their head chef carefully as the timing of cooking needed to be synchronized with his so that all the food could be served hot and together harmoniously.
Once he picked up a sample of the soup in the ladle, he tilted liquid towards his lips and gave it an audible slurp. His ears perked as the sensation of the succulent taste filled his tongue and flowed down his throat. It was rare that he'd make such a flawless concoction on the first try, but this was it. It's go time.
He smacked his lips in satisfaction and gave his fellow chefs the universal sign of approval, the OK hand. He couldn't help himself from licking the ladle clean and exhaling softly onto the remains so that he could inhale the aromatic palette of the liquid. Once that was done with, he set the soup down to a simmer and shifted his attention towards assisting his team to make sure that whatever dish they had to complement the soup with wouldn't be anything less than perfect.
His subordinates know what will happen if they fail him.
