Also, is it just me or does anyone else think it'd rock if FA had a "Science Fiction" submission theme? Between the Man-Kzin wars, Albedo, Traveller, Star Wars, Alan Dean Foster and Trek and all, there's a pretty clear precedent for sci-fi being "furry" themed.

Well, Kristy's writing "Beautiful World", and she's complained repeatedly that there's no "Science Fiction" category. I guess it would apply to my "Thirteen Ribbons", being as the story is basically more a travelogue of an improbable future Solar System than it is anything else, even if it hasn't any more plot content than any other sports movie, right? *grin*

Science fiction is technically about how people and society change in reaction to new technologies and so on, so "Thirteen Ribbons" is definitely sci-fi -- the story couldn't happen without the different tech level. Fantasy is a neat category but it seems like everything I do winds up going there!
