Well, here's a small review.
First (and obvious), grammar. Things like a lions mane (not main), of course (rahter than of coarse), things like that. 'nuff said here.
Second, I'd say you should work a bit on your sentences. Avoid repeating the same nouns often in a few sentences, don't state the obvious, and don't repeat the same actions/situations in a few sentences (i remember at one point, he was walking down the path, heard the music as he walked on the path, walked by a house near a path, etc etc etc) I think you get my point here.
On the plus side, I like it very much! It's a clear cut above the usual TF scrap where Bob happily transforms into whateveranthroanimal, says "cool", and happily lives on. You could add a bit more depth to it if you'd like, but that's not necessary.
What I really like is the crispy little details, like the fact he wasn't used to his tail. Those are the small things I really like!
All in all, a good beginning!(way better than mine!) Keep on writing man!
