Neil Armstrong was a Navy pilot, resigning his commission after the Korean War to pursue his education. He became a civilian test pilot for the Air Force and later for NASA, and was selected for astronaut training. He flew aboard Gemini 8 before being chosen to command Apollo 11. He and Buzz Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquillity on 20 July 1969.
He paused on the LM's footpad for a moment, and then took a single step.
As he put it, "One giant leap for mankind."
Of all of Earth's teeming billions throughout history, only twelve men have walked on the surface of the Moon.
But Armstrong was The First.

Okay, I’ve uploaded my drawings for both Grafton and Perceval. Hypothetically, if I were to revisit the category of Prime Ministers, any idea what I should portray the Duke of Wellington as? Best I can come up with on my own is a frankly unforgivable pun on the birth name of Wellington’s grandfather, the 1st Baron Mornington (Richard Colley)
