Boys and girls meet Shale. Shale is a member of the Hexoshee. A Hexipod species which evolved on a world in the galactic rough. Hexoshee tend to be highly intelligent and very good multi taskers. As a people they are fairly peaceful. They are a curious species and inquisitive but very patient. Their species is very long lived. In fact there are no documents of a member of their species dieing of old age. This is likely due to their more complex DNA structure and telimeres which don't degrade with time.

Shale here has used his long life for his career. He's a Xenobiologist. He studies other species and their cultures. He's gathered quite an impressive amount of data on various races. Including humans who he's been monitoring since the late 1800's. Shale himself is fairly intellectual. He values intelligence, logic, and reason over emotions. That of course is not to say he has no emotions. Simply that he doesn't allow them to rule his actions. Socially Shale is not very active as most he would become friends with he would end up attending their funerals. When your life span is limitless you end up seeing most of your friends that aren't like you die. This is another reason Shale is emotionally distant. He doesn't want to make a connection with someone only to end up loosing them.
