Alternate title: Bark Queen Centipede Redux
'Draw/Compose this again' I guess.
We've come a long way...
This is a re-imagining/recycling of a track from over seven years ago. You can find the original for comparison here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8042561/
SO. Recently I've been utterly engrossed in FFXIV:Shadowbringers-
**SPOILERS**
- and many have been making fan art of their Warriors of Light becoming Sin Eaters.
Cursing my lack of artistic ability, this is the battle theme against Gideon if he had given in to the light and become the Sin Eater known as 'Forgiven Indignation'.
"A broken sword is just a liar's crutch
A gasp of air before the choking crush is just a
frail stab and stab at fate you're gonna
get what's coming and it's worth the wait, you sinner
Suffocate upon the endless light within
Crack and crush the teeth the jaws of death sink in a
shredding cold the light the light the light
Tear them asunder and we'll feast upon the night"

Yea :D I would say it's hard to miss.
Since this song is pretty thematic in its message - I wonder what you thoughts were in putting in such an echo-y piano? It seems like quite a contrast to the fast pace here. Or is that kindof genre-typical?
I mean it has an obvious dramatic vibe to it, though.

I've always appreciated music that deviates from it's pace to offer a moment of respite, or so to say.
Other tracks that use this kinda thing is Persona 5's Rivers in the Desert, which has a segment which deviates from the intensity of the song's theme to offer 'A cool drop of water' to 'clear your head of anger'.
I guess, if I had to explain the emotional purpose of the piano here, it's to break from the wild nature of the song to show the player that they still have a modicum of control over their situation, despite the danger~

Ah, I see.
Yea, they did that to a good extent in that song, even changing the cadenza to something more major-ish using lydian chords instead of dorian for example.
If I imagine being in a game level or bossfight with constant pressure and/or danger, this might keep the equilibrium between excitement and acuity.
Thanks for explaining.
(btw: it's 'anger AND greed' ^^)
