Just a short poem that I wrote for a school paper. I really liked it, so I hope you enjoy it! :)

For those of you who don't want to open the file:
The rapid descending into the pit of woe,
My heart shivers, for hell is cold.
No one to huddle against you for warmth,
No one to help you to rally forth.
The unending emptiness that loneliness presents,
Causes people to silently writhe in pain.
Towards everybody, they feel, they must show contempt, (sorry, missed content in the file...)
Though everything is lost, and nothing gained.
The world, to them, seems out of reach;
A feeling of disconnection.
For any friend, they beseech,
Just to stave away the misery.
The river of tears, before now flowing freely;
Now lay desolate, dry and mealy.
Now the gulleys flare up with anguish,
A fire which can not be extinguished.
But when that special someone comes,
The one that penetrates the shell,
They will implode with ecstatic, internal glee.
But for now, its still tainted with misery.
The world, to them, seems out of reach;
A feeling of disconnection.
For any friend, they beseech,
Just to stave away the misery.
The river of tears, before now flowing freely;
Now lay desolate, dry and mealy.
Now the gulleys flare up with anguish,
A fire which can not be extinguished.
But when that special someone comes,
The one that penetrates the shell,
They will implode with ecstatic, internal glee.
But for now, its still tainted with misery.
