Mint Costume Design
*stretches* Alright! Down to business again. ...and speaking of getting down, here's Mint with a slight color and hair makeover. I mentioned before that I wasn't happy with Mint's hair and I just couldn't figure out what it was until last night when I sat down to draw her again and realize that what she was missing was body! ...er...not her, just her hair ^^; Her hair needed some 80's volume and so, here she is with her hair fixed up
I also saw her color on my sister's desktop the other day and I realized that her color was neon, so I wanted to tone it down a little. I hope this is better but, this is still the laptop so I really can't say
Anyhoo, about the costume. Mint is beautiful and exotic. She comes from a distant island way at the top of Catriona Isles. Her look reflects her foreign flair and underlying fierceness, while at the same time accentuates her sophistication and sensuality...yet reveals nothing in the same way that she doesn't. Hmm...in a way, her outfit is a tease, sort of saying "look but don't touch".

Mee-yow! Am I seeing apparitions? Now this is snazzy! Gosh Kitty, you totally nailed her with this outfit! (and I mean that in the most complimentary sense possible! *ducks to evade Mint's swinging paw for his use of words*) It's a real nice touch as well that with the white patterning of her fur, she seems to be wearing long gloves. A true sophisticated lady of high society! I could so see her on the arm of a tuxedo tomcat to attend a dance at a castle or something.

Oh my, she looks dashing! It's almost like a mix between something Sailor Scout-ish and something adorably retro 80's-ish! (I noticed two people referenced ABBA; they're right! It does resemble that a bit! I could also totally see Karen J. Carpenter in a get-up like this =^_^= Ahh, those good old eighties, time of my formative childhood... =~.^=)
The white does fit her very well! I can imagine she would be challenged for colors, though, with her green fur... but darker tints of green would be very complimentary, also yellow (pastel mostly), perhaps a light babyblue, cinnamon and terra and other earthly tints I think would go well with her fur color as well =^_^= (And perhaps something in Marlboro red for Christmas )

Omgosh! You have no idea, but I completely ran the color gauntlet when coloring this outfit. The only thing that didn't clash was a lighters shade of green and white. EVERYTHING else looked wrong. The only other thing that came remotely close was tan, but...yeah, I wasn't lovin' it. The best was the very pale green here. *sighs* Her colors are quite limited, but I noticed with the cool colored girls, that was the case. Most colors just didn't "mesh" well with them Ah well, I'll keep trying! Thanks!
Wow... yes, I imagine it must be real tough! I mean, Sugar's fur color is also very unusual, but her blue at least offers more combinations that look okay and appealing. Mmm... perhaps Mint could use the clashing of most colors to her advantage, though, to make her stand out even more (not like she needs that, but still =~.^=). I could imagine that with her 'cool' fur color, she might choose to wear more warm, deep, darker colors or bright ones. After all, if it's gonna clash, might as well do it right!
Either way, I have no doubt you will manage to find a couple of outfits that will work very well on her, Kitty! =^_^=

Actually, Mint is beautiful and exotic, but she does NOT want to stand out! If anything, she just wants to blend in. So, clashing colors aren't going to work for her. Besides, that doesn't fit her personality too well. Plum could do that and pull it off and maybe Tange, but Mint, not so much so
Hee! Yes, I see what you mean. And honestly, with her fur color, her exotic beauty and that amazing tail, she probably already stands out way more than she cares for =~.^= I feel a bit sorry for her, actually... she's such a contrasting and contradictionary character, with her looks and her personality. Even simple things like just blening in and choosing good clothing don't seem to work out for her as smoothly and easily as they should... but then again, that does make for a very interesting and deep character =~.^= Even if it means she has to resort to wearing plain whites or anonymous greys or blacks =~.^=
