I thought about the fact that it's likely running around in Dream realm will affect to him, despite the fact that Smutek is not quite a bug. the bright light infects him through the amulets(to stop protect) and seared through the chest. when Knight meets him for the last time, Smutek pronounces the quatrain and finally loses his mind. he cries from the understanding that will hurt others and will not be able to change anything. it's possible to save him, if time to find in one of the locations and save from infection amulet and environment. Smutek understands that shutting himself off from society is not the best idea and goes upstairs to be closer to other bugs. buuuut it's just a concept having nothing to do with the game =:'3 sob
