I...think I prefer that. Being on my own. Unshackled. No one to be bound to, to get in my way, to prevent me from doing what I like and living the way I see fit.
I feel free now. Good. I know where I'm headed, I don't feel like I'm stepping into an early grave anymore. A colossal weight, lifted from my shoulders. But still. Perhaps I wasn't empathetic enough. Kind enough. Strong enough. Which is why it's best if I do my own thing for the time being. Never again will I stop growing.

...which is still paradoxical, because human nature is so fickle. I know I will be in love again. I cannot escape this. I know I will want to get close to someone, to cherish them; but I will need my space. My huge, overwhelming space. I just hope that someone will be like-minded and require the same amount of independency.

...or perhaps my previous relationship just fucked me up. Nothing more.
